MADISONVILLE, Ohio (WKRC) - Saturday was a day to celebrate science and technology in Cincinnati.

Sciencinnati was held in Madisonville. It's a fair hosted by the Starfire Council to show people the science of everyday life.

Starfire is a regional organization that works to build better lives for people with disabilities. The idea for this event came from a young man named Craig Ihlendorf, who is passionate about all things science.

"I came up with edible chemistry which is -- when you're cooking food, you're actually doing chemistry, but the difference is you can eat it," Ihlendorf said.

"To bring science fanatics together and to try to draw that community closer to learn from each other and talk about the science of everyday things and our shared passion for science and technology," said Richard James of Starfire.

Our own meteorologist John Gumm was on hand with his tornado generator to show people how tornadoes are formed. Sciencinnati: Fair draws science, technology enthusiasts to Madisonville
